Probably all of us know someone who has a phobia of some kind or another.

Someone who is afraid of small, enclosed areas -- they're claustrophobic.

Someone who is afraid of wide open, sweeping spaces -- they're agoraphobic.

There are phobias named for fearing heights, depths, snakes, spiders, clowns, dirt, cats, dogs, and just about anything else you can think of.

What about our spiritual phobias? Do they exist and, if so, what are they?

It is with a great deal of excitement that I write to let you know, following our Search Committee’s recommendation, our Church Council has extended a call to Jenny Dailey to serve as a Ministry Consultant for our Children’s Ministry.

Jenny is a native of Ona, West Virginia. She is a graduate of Marshall University and Liberty Theological Seminary. Jenny brings a great deal of excitement and experience to our Children’s Ministry.

Although she will be assisting in other areas, her primary focus will be our new Children’s Ministry…UpStreet. Her commitment to us is to have UpStreet running, this fall, and self-sufficient by January 2009.

Our new children’s area, located in the Monroe Building, was made possible by your generous gifts to the Capital Campaign. Now, with the launching of our new Children’s Ministry, you will see your gifts multiplied in children coming to know and learn about Christ.

Jenny will be introduced to our congregation, August 24.

This Sunday Adam Goodwin will be sharing a message in both Worship Gatherings. Adam was recently named as the new Director of Baptist Campus Ministries for West Virginia and is the Campus Minister at Marshall University.
